Everybody Dies

Design and Game Control by Becky Campbell-Ladley (BeckyBecky Blogs)

“When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground” – Cersei Lannister

Let’s get straight to the point – this megagame is based on the fantastic book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R R Martin.

We’re taking you back seventeen years, before Daenerys, before Jon Snow… and long before season eight. Back to 281 AC, when King Aerys Targaryen, Second of his Name, sits the Iron Throne and the Targaryens rule the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros with an erratic fist.

But Westeros has trouble brewing, for they say the King is mad and his son Rhaegar should take his place. And some still hark back to the days before the Kingdoms were conquered, before the Targaryens ever came to our shores…

You will most likely be playing a Westerosi noble: either a member of a ruling house, one of their bannermen, a member of the Small Council, or even the heir to the throne himself. A few players will be Maesters, a cross between a healer and a scientist, loyal to one region or based in the Citadel; some will be religious leaders, promoting their Gods and often their own agenda; and some will be travelling bards, tasked with spreading the kingdom’s news.

The game is designed to be very political, and sweet-talking, blackmail, bribery and threats are all legitimate ways to achieve your goals. But there are also your armies, should you need them.

Everybody Dies is a fan event. A Song of Ice and Fire and Game of Thrones are owned by George R R Martin and HBO and we are not making a profit from this event.
